COLD HEART

Ice fills my cold heart,
Closing in on all sides.
Soon it will be frozen,
Entombed in winter frost.
Trees droop heavy with snow,
Branches hanging low with icicles.
My heart sinks heavy with ice,
Frozen until spring melts the frost.

Ice fills my cold heart,
Closing in on all sides.
Soon it will be frozen,
Entombed in winter frost.
Trees droop heavy with snow,
Branches hanging low with icicles.
My heart sinks heavy with ice,
Frozen until spring melts the frost.

THE COVER OF NIGHT

THE COVER OF NIGHT
Night is settling in.
Shadows cover the small town.
A town preparing for the evening.
The sun hides its face.
The moon turns in glee.
Time for it to shine.
Time for it to be king.
Time for the stars to twinkle.
For the stars to serve him.
The town turns darker.
The winds become colder.
The soft snow begins to freeze.
Ice hangs from the trees.
Frost covers the windows.
All are inside.
All are safe and warm.
From the moon’s games.
Or so they think.
The moon’s fun
has just begun.
Who will be at its mercy?
Who will be left out in the cold?
Don’t let it be you.

WINTER FROST

WINTER FROST

Ice fills my heavy heart.
Closing in on all sides.

Entombed in winter frost.

Branches hang low with icicles.
My heart sinks heavy with ice.
Frozen until spring melts the frost.

SOME COLD CHEER

I’m dreaming of snow.
Wrapped up in a bow.
Some cold cheer
Is needed here.

A GLASS HOUSE OF HORROR

A GLASS HOUSE OF HORROR

The guests are dancing
between frozen statues.
Statues of ice.
Sad expressions for eternity.
They appear alive.
Tears flowing down
their frosty cheeks.
Beneath the music and gaiety
lies an undercurrent of evil.
A glass house of horror.
Time to leave this fake paradise.
To leave the perfect guests.
The frozen smiles.
To escape if one can.
Escape the deadly game of The Dead.

WAITS IN THE COLD

The castle waits in the cold.
In the deepening snow.
Brutal winds charge against it.
Icicles hang from it.
It holds strong and steady.
It waits for us.
To give us shelter in the storm.

AUTUMN LEAVES

AUTUMN LEAVES

Autumn leaves cover the ground.

In colors of orange and red.

They crunch under our feet.

Crinkle to all they meet.

Snow will soon blanket them.

Soothe them with frosty kisses.

Remnants of summer gone by.

Beacons for Old Man Winter.
