ONE WITH THE SEA
Cold ripples stroke my legs.
My toes sink deeper into the sand.
I stand transfixed by the beauty.
In awe of the majestic waves.
They grow taller and fuller.
Pulling me deeper into their thrall.
I fall to my hands and knees as I let go.
Letting the water take me farther.
All I can hear are the thrashing waves.
Taking me farther away from home.
I can see the blue sky above me.
And the fish swimming below.
Will I become one with this new family?
One with the sea and its life.
