YOUR LAST BOW

Collapsing Giants. Greenland. [1080×108] Photo by Daniel Kordan

The mighty now fall,
Who had been so tall.
Melting to the sea,
Where no one can see
The majesty of your height
Or the last breath of your fight.
Please don’t leave us now.
Don’t take your last bow.
The earth will be a sadder place
Without your bright and shiny face.

WINTER FROST

WINTER FROST

Ice fills my heavy heart.
Closing in on all sides.
Soon it will be frozen.
Entombed in winter frost.
Trees droop heavy with snow.
Branches hang low with icicles.
My heart sinks heavy with ice.
Frozen until spring melts the frost.

SNOW ON ME

Snow on me.
Freeze me.
Hit my leaves with winds.
Rain on me.
Hail on me.
Drench my leaves.
Heat me.
Light me.
Grow my leaves in the sun.

FOOTSTEPS

Do we dare?
Dare to walk in the snow.
Climb the sharp rocks.
Slide down the steep slopes.
Feel the cold on our faces.
The wind hitting our bodies.
The brisk nip in the air.
Do we?
Someone else has done it.
See the footsteps left behind.
