HE’S HERE

Prey for The Dead Book IILightning moving

What if Wolf isn’t dead?
Will he return to Oasis, Florida?
Will he bring an army?
The ground shakes.
Waves rise.
Thunder echoes through town.
Lightning flashes hot.
Leaves fall from trees.
Birds flee for their lives.
He’s here.

SEEK SHELTER

The sky rumbles its pain.
The clouds shout out in vain.
The water bubbles hot.
It won’t forget you not.
Run from the hot flames of hail.
Try to hide to no avail.
Seek shelter from the storm.
This will be the new norm.
The Dead now run the town.

The water bubbles hot.
It won’t forget you not.
Run from the hot flames of hail.
Try to hide to no avail.
Seek shelter from the storm.
This will be the new norm.
The Dead now run the town.
Chin up and dare not frown.
We must bow to their favor.
While we wait for our Savior.

HOTTER THAN HELL

Source:

Hotter than hell is their playground.
Beneath layers of rocks and dirt.
They wait for their day of salvation.
When they can ride in the storm.
They grow impatient for the invasion.
The end of life as we know it.
I can hear their cries blowing in the wind.
The whispers brought forth from below.
It’s time for us to gather ammunition.
Before our poor town is nothing at all.

A PERFECT OASIS

A perfect oasis on the shore.

You could not ask for anything more.

Sun and surf during the day,

But at night there’s hell to pay.

The waves welcome daily swimmers,

But at night there are no winners.
Afraid to venture out after dark,
Residents stay clear of the town park.
One night, a hanging party is had
By the dark creatures who are plain bad.
Our town is plagued by darkness and woe.

We don’t even know who is our foe.

CHARIOTS OF HELL

Dark blue clouds fill the whole sky.
Puffy cotton balls up high.
Rumbling sounds all around.
Crashing noises of loud sound.

Chariots of hell are coming here.
We need to get away before they near.
Hell has opened to let them out.
They come for us all this dark night.

BALANCED AT THE EDGE

A house balanced at the edge.
Daring all to enter its domain.
A black invitation in hand.
We go to the party.
Faced with deadly traps.
We run for our lives.
Down the rocks.
To the beach.
Winds bashing our faces.
Lightning lighting our way.
To the park.
To a gazebo lit by candles.
A hanging body inside.
Will this night ever end?

SNOW IN FLORIDA?

The house waits in the cold
in the deepening snow.
Snow in Florida?
Brutal winds charge against it.
Icicles hang from it.
It holds strong and steady.
It waits for us
to give us shelter in the storm.
A dry place for fun and games.
What kind of games you make ask?
Deadly games of The Dead & gone.
Creatures in the walls.
A vampire’s family trapped in the tunnels
beneath  End House.
We’re waiting.

A PERFECT DAY TURNS TO HORROR

The perfect seaside paradise.
Oasis, Florida offers white-sand beaches,
blue skies, and tropical breezes.
The soft waves lap at the shore.
Linda and her friends prepare a barbeque
on the beach.
They are having fun—until the waves
and the wind turn violent.
They leave their belongings and run for shelter.
Shelter at the Town Hall, which had withstood
all past disasters.
However, this time it isn’t strong enough.
Lightning and thunder hit around them.
Debris flies through the air, past the
building’s tall windows.
Lightning hits the building.
Stones fly from its walls.
Dark shadows crash through
its windows.
Flying shadows with bodies of bats, and
to Shana’s horror, human heads.
One lifts her by her hair, its sharp
talons digging into her scalp.
She knows that they are in real
trouble this time.

A CHARGED NIGHT

A sizzle lights up the night sky.
Followed by thunder up so high.
The black clouds rumble in dismay.
Crumbling like figures of clay.
Red soon joins the purple light.
Gearing up for a loud fight.
The sea’s quiet below.
Keeping its head down low.
We’re in for a charged night.
As The Dead come to fight.

HELL HAS ARRIVED

HELL HAS ARRIVED
Darkness is approaching.
The Dead are walking.
The storm is gathering speed.
Tree limbs and debris fly by.
Heavy rains  pummel the streets.
It’s too late for us.
We must find shelter.
Hell has unleashed its demons
And they’ve come for us.
Run!

TAKE ME TO THE CHURCH

Take me to the church.
The town’s on fire.
Hell has let loose its demons.
Take me to the church.
The Town Hall has lost its windows.
The Dead are taking over the town.
Take me to the church.
I refuse to become one of The Dead.
We must run for shelter.
Take me to the church.
Hell is raining down upon us.
Creatures are stalking us.
Take me to the church.
It stands no more.
Gone in a puff of smoke.
Take me away from here.
Amen.

CAN’T TOUCH ME

Source:

The trees bend to the wind.
Lightning flashes across the sky.
The rain drenches the town.
I’m safe and warm inside.
Nothing can reach me.
The storm ravages the land.
And I watch from my window.
I can’t be touched.
Until…
