MY STORY

All stories have an end.
This is mine.
I live behind this door.
No one visits.
As footsteps draw near,
I look out the peephole.
I never answer the bell.
I slink away into my dungeon
of lost hopes and dreams.
Neighbors stay away.
Family doesn’t...

Would you?

LA SANTA MUERTE

LA SANTA MUERTE
Welcome to the black saint of death.
Welcome with my last dying breath.
You grant desires and hopeless wishes.
In return we must sleep with the fishes.
Sacrifices are your pride and joy.
Then you treat us like a broken toy.
You stand...

Welcome to the black saint of death.
Welcome with my last dying breath.
You grant desires and hopeless wishes.
In return we must sleep with the fishes.
Sacrifices are your pride and joy.
Then you treat us like a broken toy.
You stand there with your scythe and crown.
And your dark face bears a big frown.
We haven’t seen you for many years.
Now you are back in our deepest fears.

THE OASIS HOTEL

THE OASIS HOTEL
The white hotel on the beach
has everything within reach.
A swimming pool in the sun
offers fun in the hot sun.
The night brings a different story
of The Dead in all their glory.
They come to scare the town,
cold stares served with a frown.
Beware of the walking dead.
They are evil ones to dread.

TELL ME A STORY

Read me a tale, grandfather,
of battles and dead bodies.
Turn the pages, grandfather,
of the book of horrors.
Tell me more stories, grandfather,
of evil armies and sadness.
I will close my eyes, grandfather,
and will the darkness away.

WRITTEN IN BLOOD

Write your story.
Add all the details.
Include all the people.
Leave no event untold,.
Leave no rock unturned.
Write your book.
Your life story.
Letters written in blood.

A GOOD BOOK

The pages turn black.
The story turns dark.
You feel the monsters.
You believe the tale.
The book has come alive.
Close the book.
Live it.
Feel it.
A good book lingers
with you forever.

LOOK AT ME

working on a short story

Look at me.
I’m an open book.
A collection of words.
A story.
Visible to all.
Available at whim.
Like my house of glass.
No secrets here.

HEARTACHE FOR ME

Heartache is for me.
My heart yearns for thee.
Lies fall so easily from your lips.
They feel salty on my fingertips.
I must remain strong.
I hope I am wrong.
I need proof to trust you once more.
My heart is breaking at its core.
The salty mist soothes me.
The wind caresses me.
But I feel cold deep inside.
I need a safe place to hide.

DARK AS SIN

Friday the 13th is here.
There is nothing to fear.
My gargoyle friends are waiting.
Their stares are somewhat scathing.
But the night is still young.
The noose is already hung.
Bats fly around the old house.
They squeak like a little mouse.
Lightning sizzles as it plays.
Over the dark house it stays.
Thunder rumbles in pain.
Loud noises but no rain.
The door opens wide.
There’s no place to hide.
We might as well go in.
inside looks dark as sin.

A PATH THROUGH THE WOODS

Wind blows through the trees.
Ruffling the thick grass.
Striking a path through the woods.
Creating a clearing.
To the house within.
End House at Oasis.
To The Dead hidden inside.

BEFORE DAWN OF A NEW DAY

The waves are washing in.
But I can still see him.
He’s followed me here.
Must not let him get near.
He has returned from the dead.
I won’t let him in my bed.
He wants me for his queen.
With him I can’t be seen.
The tides are surely rising.
My mind is agonizing.
How will I manage to get away
Before the dawn of the new day?
