BLOOD RED

BLOOD RED

The wavering reflections of the red sky

mar the blue surface of the ocean.

The sun sets for the night,

hiding its face behind puffy clouds.

The sky reaches into its bag of tricks,

bringing out a yellow moon.

The water remains blood red

as the sky turns inky black.

A reflection from its depths

of the evil creatures rising.

Onto our crisp white shores they walk,

Leaving bloody footprints in the sand.

Growing by the second.

Thrashing under the bridge.

Leaving death in its wake.

Leave me be.

My dying wish isn’t

to be consumed by the sea.

COME TO ME

Sprinkle me with your mist.

Splash me with your waves.

Come closer.

Soak my feet.

Take my body deeper.

Into your waters.

Away from the sun.

Far from people.

Into your arms.

Hold me tight.

Ultimate fear.

A force to be reckoned.

Growing by the second.

Thrashing hands at the shore.

I can’t take anymore.

My dying wish can’t be

to be consumed by the sea.

A PLAN

Why am I never at a place like this?

Why am I always in a dark room typing?

We all make our choices,

and I have to live with mine.

Maybe…

Too many ‘maybes’ in this world.

I need one ‘could’,

and then I’m off to the tropical island.

On the way, I’ll throw my computer

into the depths of the blue, green water.

Sounds good to me.

Sounds like a plan.
